Victoria Secunda is an award-winning author, journalist, and researcher whose work has appeared in Woman’s Day, Harper’s Bazaar, and Glamour. She has written eight books, among them Losing Your Parents, Finding Your Self, published by Hyperion in 2000. She is the recipient of the 1993 Author of the Year Award from the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and has appeared on OPRAH, THE TODAY SHOW, CNN, BBC, and National Public Radio.
Currently, Victoria is the Garden Editor of Ridgefield Magazine, for which she writes a column, "The Greening Thumb," which won the 2004 Best Column of the Year Award from the Connecticut Press Club. Drawing on 12 years’ experience designing and developing one acre of gardens--which have been featured in several magazines--at her home, in 2005 she began her own firm, The Gardening Tutor, in which she gives hands-on, private lessons in garden design, planting, and maintenance.
